Supporting Neurodiversity and Inclusion in Schools

Delivered by Veema, this practical and evidence-informed course offers an essential introduction to neurodiversity for classroom teachers and school leaders. Nina Jackson will lead the session, which explores what neurodiversity is, the different ways it presents in pupils, and how we can create truly inclusive classrooms that embrace and celebrate learning differences. This course will run on 21 October in two 90 minute sessions: 8:30-10:00 and 13:30-15:00 BST

By the end of the course, participants will:

• Understand what neurodiversity is and why it matters in education.

• Identify key neurodiverse conditions and their impact on learning.

• Recognise practical classroom strategies to support neurodiverse learners.

• Reflect on developing a more inclusive mindset and learning environment—moving beyond “intervention” to “everyday inclusion.

Nina Jackson

The world of education is filled with many special people, but few have the breathtaking insight that Nina ‘Ninja’ Jackson possesses when it comes to understanding classrooms—and those within them.

Winner of the IPDA International Prize for Education, Nina has been described by TES as an “inspirational, evangelical preacher of education.”

An international education consultant, Nina is an award-winning speaker, best-selling author, and leading practitioner in outstanding learning and teaching. She has a particular talent for working with SEND, Gifted and Talented learners, and for engaging disaffected students. A favourite among teachers, students, and educationalists alike, her training courses and keynote speeches always leave audiences inspired and eager for more.

Nina has had a profound impact on education both in the UK and internationally. She has worked with the Ministry of Education, UNESCO, and UNICEF in Chile, Ghana, India, China, and the Middle East, as well as across Europe. In her first book, she explored how music enhances classroom learning and motivation.

Her latest best-seller, Of Teaching, Learning and Sherbet Lemons: A Compendium of Careful Advice for Teachers, has helped thousands of educators bring the “fizz” back into their classrooms. Her message is clear: while classrooms require structure and systems, they also need a sense of magic and wonder—the “fizz” that comes from passionate teachers who connect emotionally with their students.
