Using Metacognition to Enhance Learning
Delivered by School Leaders Training, this three-hour interactive course will give participants an overview of metacognition, including lots of practical classroom activities and examples. The course will take place on 26 May, 9.30-12.30 GMT.

Educational research consistently highlights that metacognitive strategies are extremely effective to enhance learning.
This course will give participants an overview of metacognition, including lots of practical classroom activities and examples, as well as looking at strategies for encompassing metacognitive practices deeper into teaching.
Participants will work interactively with each other and also have the opportunity to share their experiences of what works for them.
By the end of the training participants will:
- Have a deeper understanding of what metacognition is;
- Have an appreciation of types of metacognitive questions that can be used in the classroom;
- Have explored a range of other practical metacognitive activities that can be used in different subjects.
