Working Together to Become More Mentally Healthy Schools
Delivered by Creative Education, this course will enable school leaders to work together to develop and implement a whole school approach to mental health. It will run over four sessions of 1.5 hours on 9, 16, 24 November and a follow up session on 25 January, 16:00-17:30 GMT (UTC).
Description
Over the course of four sessions, school leaders will work together to develop and implement a whole school approach to mental health. Each session will be a mixture of taught content, sharing of best practice and action planning. Colleagues will be encouraged to implement ideas between sessions and the sharing of resources will be encouraged and facilitated.

3. Promoting student wellbeing | Supporting vulnerable learners
4. Engaging parents | Enabling help seeking | final reflections & planning
Format:
Delivered via Zoom, the sessions will be a mixture of:
- Taught content delivered by Pooky Knightsmith
- Case studies shared by schools attending
- Break out discussion sessions
- Action planning and reflection

Recordings and slides will be made available to registered delegates; certificates will be issued to delegates who attended all live, facilitated sessions.

Dr Pooky Knightsmith
An internationally respected face of child and adolescent mental health, Pooky works tirelessly to ‘be the change she wants to see’. A prolific keynote speaker, lecturer, trainer and author, she develops and shares practical, evidence-informed approaches to promoting mental health – arming health, social care and education staff with the skills, understanding and knowledge they need to support the children in their care.
Pooky has a PhD in child mental health from the Institute of Psychiatry, is the author of seven books, is the research and development director at Creative Education and is a former chair of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition. She has developed and delivered online training courses which have each been completed by over 20,0000 people.
