- Introduction to Cyber Security Threats & Mitigation via a Zero Trust Architecture
This module provides an overview of the current cyber security landscape, highlighting prevalent threats such as phishing, malware, and ransomware. Participants will learn about the principles of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), an advanced security framework that assumes no user or device is inherently trustworthy.
- Developing and implementing a cyber security plan at your school
In this module, participants will explore the essential components of a comprehensive cyber security plan tailored for schools. The course will guide attendees through the process of assessing vulnerabilities, setting security objectives, and developing policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and infrastructure. Emphasis will be placed on creating a culture of security awareness among staff and students, incorporating best practices for data protection, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Participants will leave equipped to design and implement a robust cyber security strategy for their school.
- Case study: Cyber incident response planning.
This module presents a detailed case study on managing and responding to a cyber security incident within an educational setting. Participants will analyse a real-world scenario to understand the stages of incident response, including preparation, detection, containment, eradication, and recovery. The session will cover the importance of having an incident response plan, roles and responsibilities, communication strategies, and post-incident activities such as reporting and lessons learned. By examining this case study, attendees will gain practical insights into effective incident management and the resilience-building measures necessary to minimise the impact of cyber attacks.
