Leading for Wellbeing
Delivered by Well Well Well, this course offers school leaders strategies for establishing a sustainable culture of wellbeing throughout their schools. The course will take place over two sessions on 12 November and 19 November from 9:00 GMT to 12:30 GMT.
Description
Wellbeing Intelligence is an actionable skill set that enables leaders to hold wellbeing as a strategic priority for themselves and their teams, allowing them to navigate the challenges of modern educational leadership with greater confidence and clarity. It allows leaders to better understand how and when to support themselves and their teams, enabling them to unlock untapped potential and cultivate systems that nurture human sustainability.
Schools led, at all levels, with advanced Wellbeing Intelligence ultimately create environments in which wellbeing for all is a natural outcome of well-designed work. They become beacons of excellence and care and highly attractive propositions for staff entering or currently struggling in what they know to be a challenging profession.
Training will focus on the following themes:
- The importance of middle/senior leadership in establishing a sustainable culture of wellbeing
- The Wellbeing Intelligence model (WQ)
- The relationship between WQ and Positive Leadership
- The value of a strengths focus (individual, team and organisational)
- When is a strength not a strength? Establishing a more nuanced understanding
- The rules of effective recognition & appreciation
- Holding a positive perspective whist avoiding toxic positivity
- The SMART model of sustainable work design
- Practical application of learning
By participating, leaders will gain:
- A research-backed framework for integrating wellbeing into their everyday leadership practice.
- An extensive toolkit of easy to implement strategies to enhance the wellbeing of themselves and their teams.
- An essential 21st Century leadership skillset that fosters increased engagement, satisfaction, retention and human sustainability.
Presenter
Stephanie Hawkins
Stephanie Hawkins is an expert in positive organisational psychology and leadership, with a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology. She combines her extensive background in psychology, education and leadership to help schools embed wellbeing as a core part of their culture; not as an ‘extra’ task, but as the foundation for sustainable success.
As the founder of Well Well Well, Steph works with international schools to develop leadership capacity, strengthen staff wellbeing, and create environments where both educators and students can truly flourish. Her approach is practical, research-driven and deeply rooted in collaboration, empathy and growth.
Steph is a highly respected trainer, known for her ability to translate wellbeing science into simple actionable strategies that drive meaningful and lasting change. Her mission is to empower educators with the skills, confidence, and insight to make a meaningful focus on wellbeing a ‘way’ of working (rather than ‘extra’ work), one that supports performance, satisfaction, retention and a thriving school culture.
